2nd Verse

Under heaven all can see beauty as beauty
only because there is ugliness..
All can know good as good only because there is evil

Being and nonbeing produce each other
the difficult is born in the easy..
long is defined by shorth, the high by the low
before and after go along with each other

So the master lives openly with apparent duality
and paradoxical unity
the master can act without effort and teach without word
Nurturing things without possessing them
he works , but not for rewards
he competes , but not for results

when the work is done , it is forgotten...
that is why it last forever....

The second verse is all inspiring..
it teaches us how to accept things as they are.
Most of us desires happiness but we forgot that along with it is the reality that it has the innate polarity of sadness.
One way or the other what is on top will come down and vise versa....
In a way this gives me the insight that has created an inprint in my soul.
I believe that if we understand this powerfull words this will change our ways and perception about life...
A good example of this is letting go of the person you love
It may be because of distance, inreconsilable difference, that of permanent separation because of death......or for no reason at all
One should accept that possessing is not loving.....
letting go is in fact practicing the polarity of possesing thus loving...
It may sound paradoxiacal but that is the fact.
All of creation is created by this principle... Polarity principle
I am able to share my thoughts about this because one time in my life my thoughts were foolish... thus learn to seek wisdom...
Once there was no ronie.. there will never be, then out of nothingness came to be the material me.. as a human we are ought to be called and so THERE came Ronie....But actually even with or without name i existed.....I existed because once i didnt exist.....
What im trying to establish here is that we have to learn to flow with what life has to bring .... may it be good or bad... for life is not life without death....and death is not death if there is no life.... It is what it is or is not.....
If we learn to live by this principle we may be able to reflect our purpose of this never ending flow of paradoxical unity.....

1st verse

The Force that can be told is not the eternal force
THe name that can be named
is not the eternal name

The force is both named and the nameless
As nameless it is the origin of all the things
as named it is the Mother of of All things

Ever desireless, one can see the mystery
ever desiring, one sees only the eyes allows them to see
and the mystery itself is the doorway
to all understanding........

beginning this day ill be using verses from the teachings of Lao Tzu...
with this, i'll give my thoughts and insights....

... All comes from the force... Human as we are we love to name things .. Our mind cant conceptualize the UNKNOWN...
So with our rational mind we call this force as GOD, Allah, TAO.....
We try to study GOD - by studying divinity and creating DOGMA .. to which for me is futile....
.... A masterpiece cant study the details of the MASTER.....
All it can do is to know that sometime and for a purpose it was created...
It is the reflection of the MASTER itself...
My insight for this is ...
STOP LAbelling .. Stop NAMING things..... For everything ... as in everything comes from the Force...
And no matter how hard we try to Study and understand the reasons of things we just cant....
So better allow yourself to let things be.. Knowing that everything comes from the force... Our challenge is this .. HOW to be connected and stay connected to the source..
I have no answers for this but i believe that in our own way as we ourselves are individual Materpieces of the FORCE we know in our personnal way how to connect and stay connected to the FORCE.....
........ Take time then .. Being alive and knowing your purpose is the greatest ACHIVEMENT.....

Change

Hello everyone! My apologies if ever I have not added new Blog. Anyways Let me share my thoughts about CHANGE!

..... FOr a couple of months I was very anxious and fearful for the imminent CHANGE that is about to take place. I received My immigrant visa and my employer called me that my depoyment will be by the end of September.

Great! I should be thankful and happy for this is the most awaited thing in my life at present. This is a dream coming to reality! Yet as the day draws near the more I became restless, ambivalent and depress. Whoa! Depress? One mytthink that I must Be crazy! I am about to migrate to the US and I am depress? SHOOT! Yeah I am perhaps crazy! or not? ......
Finally the Day came. September 23 when I Boarded Cathy Pacific bound for Los Angeles Via Hong Kong. Nothing unusualduring flight except that when I tune In My Radio, the DJ was discussing about the REALITY about CHANGE. Heres What I learned:
Ways to embrace Change:
1. Take time
Change is permanent! there is nothing you can do about it. No matter you like it or not, change will STILL take its own course. Do not resist it, allow yourself in your own phase to follow the flow!
2. Its OK to be emotional!
The BEST thing in life is to be in your COMFORT ZONE! to feel the comfort of your own shell! Well when change is to happen One is to be in Uncharted waters! and this brings forth Anxiety and discomfort! So feel your emotion! I bet you It is normal..
3. Have a perspective
Knowing that There is nothing you can do the prevent it. Try to be in your best stance! What do you want to happen? would you like to feel anxious and be fearful about the future? or take a brave heart knowing that THE BEST IS YET TO COME in your life! its a matter of perspective!
4. Inlist your friends and Family!
Change is better handled with if you ask the support of your family and friends. In my part I have contacted my classmates, friends and relatives in Los Angeles. And they provided me the WORDS that I needed the MOST. ASSURANCE that I can make it. If anything happens in the wrong course its good to know that you have someone to lean on
5. Simplifly things!
Migrating to a place you have never been into is no easy business. Its like a fish in the aquarium transfered to the OCEAN! Its a course of Uncertainty, risk and danger!.. yet when you do things according to priority, then it is allot more safer.
6. Follow the flow!
It is easier to swim along the river than opposing it....Let go and learn to ride on the flow of things
7.Learn form IT.
This change will eventually become a ROUTINE in the future and then another CHANGE will take place! So learn from it so the next time around it will be allot more easier to adjust.
8. .... This is my own way of dealing cHANGE ..Ask for guidance! you may call it GOD, Divine! spiritual!- its soothing to know that there is someone, something greater thanall of us that is in our side!

Depression

it is defined as a prolong sense of loneliness and of feeling blue. This is usually brought about by exogenous origin.. from daily frustrations to dramatic turn of life events.........Or endogenous because of imbalance of biochemicals in the brain
........ Im feeling blue for a quite some time now. Let me think.. what seems to be the cause ?is it from exogenous source? I dont know......Maybe because of the uncertainty of my US immigrant visa application. Or maybe becauseof family struggles. Or perhaps because of not having someone whom i can call special- wel its by choice! ... i really dont know! or maybe i am just having misguided appraisal of the things goin on in my life now. Or worst is maybe its endogenous... where my neurotransmitters are loosing their sanity!
Whatever the cause of it I need to do something or else.....
Well I guess placing a new post in this blog is therapeutic.....
It gives me the opportunity to share my views which indeed is very helpful in reducing the sense of being alone!
......These made me wonder even that with our technology today were communication is allot easier, convenient, accessible in a variety of ways people still succumed to depression. Well for those of you who might read this entry bare in mind to communicate to your loveones and friends ...... Use our modern technology ..Yet one thing technology cant offer, that is the PERSONAL TOuCH only you can give.

Immigration Alert: Retrogression solved... temporarily
The Department of State (DOS) has released its July Visa Bulletin, making all categories current in the employment based system. The visa bulletin takes effect on July 1st. What does this mean? For applicants waiting for interviews at the consulate: the foreign national may proceed with the consulate interview after the National Visa Center or the consulate schedules an interview. It is expected that it will take the NVC some time to begin issuing appointment dates, as there are thousands of cases that have stacked up during the period of retrogression. For applicants with labor certification approvals: the foreign national may proceed with concurrent filing of the I-140 and I-485 applications. For applicants with approved I-140 petitions: the foreign national may proceed with the I-485 Adjustment of Status or consular interview, depending upon which option the foreign national is choosing. For applicants in the U.S. on temporary status who are eligible to bypass labor certification (e.g. registered nurses, physical therapists, National Interest Waivers, Exceptional Ability Aliens, etc.): the foreign national may proceed with concurrent filing of the I-140 and I-485 applications. Hammond Law Group clients who are proceeding with I-485 Adjustment of Status should click here: http://www.hammondlawfirm.com/485step_by_step.htm and begin working through the four step process to gather the documents that we need to prepare the I-485 application. Once you have gathered the items listed at Step One and have completed the G-325A at Step Two, please mail all of the items to your HLG attorney and they will immediately begin working on the I-485. You should also indicate if you would like to have Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) and Advance Paroles (APs) filed on your behalf and your families’ behalf. You may want to schedule a time to speak with your HLG attorney to discuss these issues. However, please send the documents immediately. These dates will remain current until at least August 1, 2007. However, USCIS fee increases go into effect on July 30 2007, and may last until October. Therefore, your Hammond Law Group attorney will be working expeditiously to get the cases filed before the fee increases go into effect, subject to cooperation from the foreign national in sending the documents to us timely.

US Immigration Process

Permanent Residence For Nurses

If the RN resides abroad, the following steps must be completed before the nurse may be employed in the U.S.:

1. The RN must be in possession of:
a. A diploma from a nursing school in her country;
b. An RN license in her country; and
c. A full and unrestricted license to practice professional nursing in the state of intended employment, or a certification that she/he has passed the examination given by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS), or evidence that she/he has passed the NCLEX-RN licensing examination but cannot obtain a license because she/he lacks a social security number.
The following states require that foreign nurses pass the CGFNS examination before taking the state RN licensing (NCLEX) examination: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.

2. RNs together with physical therapists are listed as shortage, or “Schedule A”, occupations in regulations (20 C.F.R. §656.22) issued by the Department of Labor. An employer who wishes to immigrate an RN is exempt from having to submit an application for alien labor certification to the Department of Labor or to a State Employment Security Agency.

The immigration process begins when an employer submits an immigrant visa petition (Form I-140) to the office of the Immigration Service (USCIS) having jurisdiction over the nurse’s place of intended employment. The petition must be accompanied by Labor Department forms ETA-750A and B and by various documents including those listed above. The petition should be accompanied by a check for filing fees. Typically, the USCIS will approve the visa petition in two to twelve months.

3. The USCIS first sends the approved visa petition to the National Visa Center (NVC) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. If there is no backlog for immigrant visas from the RN’s native country (her “priority date” is “current”), the NVC forwards a packet to the nurse or his/her attorney containing biographical information forms and a fee invoice to be completed by her and her family members, and a list of documents which must be presented at her interview for permanent residence.

4. The RN, or her attorney, sends the signed and completed forms and fees to the NVC. The NVC then sends notice to the U.S. consulate where the nurse will have his/her interview for permanent residence. At this interview, the nurse must present various documents including the following:

a. Application for Immigrant Visa
b. Police Clearance
c. Birth Certificate
d. Marriage Certificate, if any
e. Divorce or Death Certificate of Spouse, if any
f. Valid Passport
g. Medical Examination
h. Photographs
i. Recent job offer letter (or employment contract)
j. Financial information regarding employer
k. VisaScreen Certificate

The VisaScreen Certificate requirement was imposed by §343, a last-minute amendment to the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA). It added “uncertified health-care workers” to the list of persons who are inadmissible to the U.S. See §212(a)(5)(C), INA.

A VisaScreen Certificate is issued only after the RN has demonstrated that (1) his/her education, license and training in his/her country are equivalent to education, licensure and training in the U.S. and that (2) her level of competence in oral and written English are appropriate to practice professional nursing in the U.S.

The USCIS regulations provide that the only organization authorized to issue VisaScreen certificates to RNs is the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS), the organization which is listed in §343. The CGFNS is located at 3600 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19104-2651; telephone: (215) 349-8767; fax: (215) 349-0026; e-mail: support@cgfns.org

Caveat: It may be very difficult to contact the CGFNS. The CGFNS web site warns that
Due to an unusually large volume of phone calls (up to 4000 calls per week), CGFNS' phone lines are extremely busy. Your call is important to us. If you have been unsuccessful in contacting a CGFNS representative by phone, please call after 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time and leave a message, and we will respond as soon as we can.
You may also fax or email CGFNS, however please be advised that it may take some time before we can respond as we are receiving a marked increase in faxes and emails as well.
CGFNS is doing everything it can to try and alleviate the large number of calls, faxes and emails it is currently receiving. You can now download application packets for most CGFNS programs from the CGFNS web site. Also, please check the web site for the latest news on CGFNS exam dates and sites and other information.
CGFNS thanks everyone for their patience. We know your questions and inquiries are important and are making every effort to respond as soon as possible.
Obtaining such a certificate requires a significant expenditure of time, effort and money (currently $325) on the part of the nurse.
In addition, unless the nurse was educated in an English-speaking country (U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, United Kingdom or Canada - all provinces except Quebec), he/she must achieve a certain score on tests in written and spoken English administered by TOEFL (Test Of English As A Foreign Language), MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery), IELTS, TSE, TWE, or TOEIC in order to qualify for a VisaScreen certificate. (It is no longer possible to take the MELAB for VisaScreen purposes.
Passing scores for RNs are as follows:
IELTS: Academic Module 6.5 and Spoken Band 7.0
TOEFL: Paper-Based 540; TOEFL Computer-Based 207; Test of Written English (TWE) 4.0; Test of Spoken English (TSE) 50.
TOEIC: 725; plus TWE: 4.0 and TSE: 50 or
Information about taking the TOEFL, IELTS and TOEIC examinations may be obtained from their web sites. They are all offered worldwide.
Passing scores for the MELAB were as follows: Final Score 79+; Oral Interview 3+.
Generally, the process of obtaining permanent residence may take between 12 to 18 months assuming that the immigrant visa quota from the RN’s country of birth is not backlogged. Currently, none of the employment-based quotas are backlogged. However, it is probable that backlogs will develop in the near future for RNs born in India, mainland China, and possibly from the Philippines.

If the RN is in the United States, the nurse may be able to start working for the employer more expeditiously than if she resides abroad:
The RN is required to have the same documents as stated at the beginning of this article. However, since he/she is in the U.S., he/she may take the state licensing examination (officially known as the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses or “NCLEX-RN”). Generally, the NCLEX-RN may only be taken in the U.S., although it is also offered in Guam, Saipan, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and American Samoa. NCLEX officials have indicated that starting in 2004, the NCLEX-RN will be offered abroad. The NCLEX-RN is administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. For more information about taking the NCLEX-RN, see National Council’s web site at
http://www.ncsbn.org
This web site contains contact information for nurse licensing boards in each state.
The employer must submit an immigrant visa petition to the appropriate USCIS Service Center on behalf of the nurse. In order for the visa petition to be approved, the RN must have passed either the CGFNS exam or the NCLEX exam, or be in possession of a "full and unrestricted license" as a registered nurses in the state of intended employment.
The USCIS does not forward the approved visa petition to the NVC when an RN submits an application to adjust her status to permanent resident in the U.S.
Historically, upon approval of her visa petition, assuming his/her priority date is current, the RN and his/her family members (spouse and unmarried children under 21 years of age) would apply for adjustment of status to permanent residence in the U.S. Simultaneously, they would apply for employment authorization cards, and possibly, travel authorization documents (“advance parole”). New procedures allow nurses to file the adjustment of status concurrently with the visa petition filed by the employer. Practically speaking this means the nurse will obtain work authorization in 3-6 months. However, a nurse can not qualify for permanent residence until she presents a VisaScreen Certificate.

Temporary Visas for Nurses

Although most RNs do not qualify for temporary working visas, it is possible to obtain temporary visas or work permits for nurses in the following categories:
Trade NAFTA Work Permits
Nurses who are citizens of Canada are exempt from visa requirements. They may work in the U.S. in Trade NAFTA (“TN”) status if:
1. They have an offer of employment from a U.S. employer for a period not to exceed one-year;
2. They are licensed in Canada and in the state of intended employment;
3. They have a proof of Canadian citizenship; and
4. They pay a small fee to enter the U.S.
TN status may be renewed on a yearly basis either by having the nurse reenter the U.S. with the documents listed above, or by requesting an extension of TN status from the USCIS Service Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
A TN nurse is not supposed to have any intention of remaining permanently in the U.S.
Nurses who are citizens of Mexico may also qualify for TN status. However, for Mexican RNs, the procedure is considerably more complex than for Canadians. The employer must submit a Labor Condition Application (“LCA”) to the Department of Labor and a nonimmigrant visa petition (form I-129) to the INS Service Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Once the LCA and the petition are approved, the RN must apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate in Mexico.

H-1B Specialty Occupation Status
Traditionally, RNs have been considered “professionals” under U.S. immigration laws. From 1952 to 1989, U.S. employers could employ foreign-born nurses using “H-1” temporary visas. In 1989, the Immigration Nursing Relief Act (INRA) was enacted as a five-year pilot program. INRA provided that only health care facilities with “attestations” approved by the Labor Department could obtain “H-1A” status to employ nurses on a temporary basis in the U.S.
Other occupations which formerly fell within the “H-1” category became part of the new “H-1B” category. The Immigration Act of 1990 provided that only those occupations for which a four-year university degree was a prerequisite for employment could qualify for “H-1B” status. However, in 1991, the “H-1B” category was amended to include certain foreign-born fashion models.
Although a commission appointed by the Secretary of Labor recommended that INRA be extended, Congress allowed the law to expire in 1995. Thereafter, health care facilities could no longer petition for additional foreign-born RNs to obtain H-1A visas. The last H-1A visas expired in 1997.
The H-1B category is an ineffective vehicle for most health care facilities who wish to employ RNs since the minimum entry requirement for most staff RN jobs is a two-year associate degree rather than a four-year bachelors’ degree. However, where a facility can justify that a four-year degree (or equivalent) is the minimum entry requirement for a job, such an RN may be granted an H-1B visa. An INS memorandum, dated November 27, 2002, explains the requirements for a registered nurse to obtain H-1B status in detail.

NOW

NOW...for most of us is just a word......nothing more
Pause for a moment, close your eyes and then in your mind utter the word NOW.....feel your body.. activate for senses go deeper inside........
.....What pops out in your mind?
for me there is nothing. Yes nothing, for
NOw is the convergence between the past and the future. Present is Zero time. Time lessness if there is such a word.....A timeless dimension is ETERnity therefore Eternity is NOW.......
Few people realizes that one does not need to die to be in eternity......
We have the constant access to eternity NOW........
All it takes is just to be aware of the timeless present!

Current Retrogression update

For latest News about retrogression: click the HLG blogspot link

HLG believes that there is an increasingly good chance that the retrogression is solved in next 3-4 months via Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR). The approximate time frame would be this: the House announced their CIR proposal (called Strive Act) in March. We have heard from several sources that the Senate is set release their version in early May. Their version (like the Senate's) is a broad proposal and has bi-partisan support. The Senate has formally set the last two weeks of May aside for immigration debate. There is a very good chance that the Senate actually passes a bill in late May/ early June. And that's where it gets trickier. The key is that the House continues the momentum and pushes through a bill in June. If they do, Congress will have to take both bills to committee, which is the process whereby the Congress irons out the differences between the bills. The expectation is that the differences will be minor. The President will surely sign the bill since he's been a CIR proponent since Day One of his presidency.Putting all of this together it is more likely than not that we have a CIR bill in July/August. All of that having been said, we're not only relying on CIR. There is a continuing push for a "bridge," which is a small piece of legislation to immediately, but temporarily, end the retrogression and bridge the gap until the full CIR can get passed into law. The odd-reality is that the more likely CIR looks, the less likely the bridge looks.

Incidental Report

Tuesday......A day before our scheduled culmination day for the psychiatric exposure.
I arrived around 6 am only to know that some of my students are still asleep ......Grrrrh!
What should be the best thing to do? should I get a bucket of water? should I pull them over? or should I approach them and calmly wake them up.....?
What is your guess?...... Nope i did'nt drenched them with water nor pull them out of the bed! .
With a calm voice I requested these guys to WAKE UP!.......
My temper was rising..... Knowing that the students from other schools are having their formation for their exercise.......So as i feared, only half of my students were able to join the exercise!
Huh! its a bad day to begin with!..... But I conditioned my mind that I will not let this event spoil the rest of the day! ....... for I will still Join a PARTY in a short while! did i say PARTY? yeah! cool!
8:30 - the party begins...Our concept for the day is birthday party.. So all the patients have to wear their party hats...they were given the chance to blew their birthday candles and make a wish!
It was magical!.... the emotion we all have expereince is so imense!
Well thats the postive side....When the magic all ended, its time for me evaluate today's activity!
So I rate their therapy as 9 ( excellent) out of 10. Yet I was also honest with them that their behavior early in the morning ( them being late for the activites- exercise) was totally unacceptable , so i told them that for those people concern they have given me no choice but to demand an incidnetal report!..... The people concern were all shock yet were able to accept their fault and made no further comments except for One. . He blurted out in anger! lashing out intimidating words! .......I stood my ground firmly. I explain my side calmy but to be frank its very hard to maintain my composure especially when the student question your credibility as the instructor....then suddenly the scene was shifted when one of the students tried to pacify the "overheated" discussion....The teacher - student discourse now turn as the intergroup argument.... This time its my time to pacify them!......Their was still no complete resolution over the situation... yet I maintained my stand that they have to explain their side by wrting an incidental report!.. in this case I have to write my own incidnetal report too.... But I gues if I have a point to raise in the report it is the way we handled the situation. We were able to raise and clarify the right issue.... were able to control our emotions .. we did not allow our defensive- reflex mode to take over the incidient!....Well In 72 hours ..i will submit my incidental report!- goodluck

Delusion

I started my day with the usual routines and rituals.
Today is Monday and it is my students turn to perform the "dreaded" exercise for the residents of the behavioral clinic we are assigned.
As i was on my way to the clinic i was thinking if they have prepared well coz the last time we had our exercise was a mess........
And the rest was history.....they have not failed me this time! Whew !
I am the Instructor of a group of student nurses.... We are in the Psychiatric unit to help the residents regain their mental state. That is what we believe in. Or so it was. We are there to help those who are detached from the reality.
But as we learn more about our client's life and behavior, it seems like it is them who brought us back to reality. They help us face our labile mood, at times our violent behavior and most of all our DELUSIoNal Thinking. The fixated belief that we are all normal, that we are more fortunate than them coz we think we are more rational than them. The reality is, if we are infact rational and sane how come that our world is in the state of dis array? a world filled with intollerance ? a world full of hate? How come that our regard to others is still influence by their color.... religion...belief... race... and orientation? Or in a simplier terms, why is it hard to say sorry or to forgive a friend, a loveone? How come that brothers or perhaps couples allow time to be in between them without talking and fixing their differences?
DELUSION a state of fixated false Belief!
.....The short time I spent with the residents along with my students gave me the opportunity to think again about life.....my purpose .... my goal.... For I dont want wake up someday and realize that I am in fact living a life in DELUSION.
